I originally planned to have a large wedding, but have reconsidered. I plan to elope as soon as possible, but I know that my friends and family really want to celebrate with me. My friend who was going to be my matron of honor is going to give me an engagement party so my family and friends can celebrate with us. I guess it could also be considered a Pre-reception. My question is should I still register? Do people give wedding gifts at these types of parties. I don't want to be presumptious and register if its not the thing to do, but if people will want to buy gifts and expect me to be registered I will do that. I've never done the whole wedding thing, so don't really know what the protocal is for any of these things.

Thanks Debbie68;
Yes you can register! Why not. There are even wonderful sites that enhance the entire registry process.
Check out one that we've featured as the best option for clients.
